What is fat freezing?

Fat freezing is a nonsurgical way to reduce fat in your body. As the name suggests, the technology uses cold temperatures to destroy fat cells in localized areas of fat.

Fat freezing works because fat cells are highly susceptible to damage from cold temperatures. Fat cells experience injury when exposed to extremely cold temperatures, so they can no longer survive. Your lymphatic system then rids your body of the dead fat cells and any associated waste.

What areas can you treat with fat freezing?

Fat freezing is effective on those bulgy areas that just don’t respond to other fat-reduction techniques, like diet and exercise. You may choose fat freezing to slim your:

How does fat freezing work?

Forma Cryo Body Aesthetics uses the Cryo T-Shock® system to perform fat freezing. At the start of the procedure, your technician applies a gel to treatment areas. This gel facilitates smooth movement of the wand that applies the cool therapy.

Your technician then glides the wand over treatment areas. The wand delivers alternating pulses of warming and cooling temperatures to encourage the circulation and freezing of fat cells. The technician watches a monitor the entire time that shows the real-time progression of temperatures to ensure no damage occurs to the muscle beneath the fat cells.

Each treatment area is about 50 minutes in duration.
